AKAPPARAMBU SREE KRISHNA SWAMY TEMPLE is an ancient temple believed to have been built about 2000 years ago. It was then administered by the Local Kingdom
After the decline of the kingdom era, the administration came to the hands of a few Brahmin (Nampoothiri) families. The temple achieved prominence during the prosperity of the Kingdom and of these Brahmin families. However, on introduction of the Land Reform Act during 1970's the Brahmin families lost a large portion of their properties. Consequently, they were unable to find resources necessary to perform even the daily rituals at the temple and slowly the annual celebrations (Thiruvulsavam) and other important festivals ceased to function and the devotees stopped visiting the temple. The temple gradually fell into ruin.
Fortunately, on the GRACE OF GOD, in the year 1991 a group of local people decided to restore the sanctity of the temple and to regain its lost glory. In order to achieve these goals they formed a committee ("Samithi") titled as "Akapparambu Sreekrishna Swamy Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi", which was registered on the 27th day of March 1991 under the provisions of the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 with Registration Number ER 227/91. The temple and its surrounding land was transferred to this Samithi from the custodian of the temple, a renowned Brahmin Family called Padappa Mana, Mekkad. Under the administration of the "Samithi" all poojas and other important rituals have since been revived.
It is a known fact that "AKAPPARAMBAPPAN" (Sreekrishna Bhagawan) will bless those devotees who seek him from the depth of ones hearts....
